Tigers Re-Sign Carlos Perez to Minor League Deal

• Carlos Perez, a 36-year-old veteran catcher, has signed a minor league deal with the Detroit Tigers.
• Perez split the 2026 season between the Tigers’ and Astros’ Triple-A affiliates.
• This marks Perez’s fourth organization in the past three seasons, but he has not received a big-league call-up at any of these stops.
• The Tigers are reshaping their coaching staff after a disappointing 2026 season, finishing 76-86 and missing the postseason.
• Manager A.J. Hinch and president of baseball operations Scott Harris have several decisions to make before spring training.
