Rangers Claim Pitcher Butto, Outright Helman

• The Texas Rangers claimed right-handed pitcher Jose Butto off waivers from the San Francisco Giants.
• Infielder/outfielder Michael Helman was assigned outright to Triple-A Round Rock after going unclaimed on waivers.
• Jose Butto had been on the Giants’ 60-day injured list.
• The Giants made the move due to an extreme roster crunch after losing Butto for the season.
• Butto threw only two innings for the Giants before being claimed by the Rangers.
