Punam Raut Retires After Four Years of Unsuccessful Comeback Bid

• Punam Raut spent four years attempting to return to the Indian cricket team.
• Her last international appearance was in 2021.
• Raut announced her retirement earlier this month due to the lack of a call-up despite her efforts.
• She scored runs in domestic cricket, recovered from illness, and worked towards a comeback.
• Raut's retirement was not due to a lack of desire to play for India, but a realization that the call would not come.
