MapQuest Adds Surveillance Layer Showing Flock Camera Locations

• MapQuest released an app update with a new Surveillance Layer showing known license plate reader camera locations.
• The Surveillance Layer includes cameras from Flock Safety and other companies like Motorola Solutions, Genetec, Axis Communications, Axon, and Leonardo.
• Users can toggle the Surveillance Layer on or off in Map Options, alongside traffic and incidents layers.
• The feature follows MapQuest's previous decision not to comply with certain political renaming mandates.
• The update has led to increased downloads of the MapQuest app.
