Hyundai and Kia to test Level 4 self-driving trucks in South Korea
- Hyundai Motor and Kia will test Level 4 autonomous trucks on South Korean logistics routes of up to 400 kilometers.
- Kia launched South Korea’s first remotely operated car-sharing trial in the Pangyo Techno Valley region.
- The car-sharing trial uses Kia’s PV5 electric vans and allows customers to have a vehicle delivered to their location without a driver.
- Remote tele-operators return the vehicles to a depot after use, easing the burden on large fleet operators.
- The tests are part of the companies' preparation for commercializing autonomous vehicles.
