280 Ice Age Engravings Discovered in Spanish Cave

• 280 Palaeolithic engravings were discovered in Cova de la Font Major, Spain.
• The engravings include depictions of animals and geometric shapes.
• This discovery challenges the notion that cave art was scarce in northeastern Iberia.
• Previously, only two pieces of cave art were known from the region.
• The engravings suggest unique artistic traditions independent of the Franco-Cantabrian region.
