Google to Disable Search in Schools Blocking AI Tools
- Google is making it easier for schools to restrict its AI tools for students.
- Schools that block AI entirely will lose student access to Google’s search engine.
- Access to Gemini, Gemini Notebook, Gemini in Classroom, and Google Search will be off for K-12 student accounts unless explicitly turned on.
- This decision was shared in a broader education-related update from Google.
- The integration of AI features into Google Search is the reason for this policy.
