Google Linking Phone Numbers to Android Accounts

• Google is linking phone numbers to all signed-in Google accounts on Android devices.
• This policy change occurred between August and October 2025.
• The setting 'Verify phone numbers automatically' must now be opted out of.
• Adding a new SIM to a phone links it to all Google accounts.
• Any new Google accounts added inherit the phone number from the device.
