Cardinals Hire Joel McKeithan as New Hitting Coach

• Joel McKeithan, previously an assistant hitting coach for the Chicago White Sox, has been hired by the St. Louis Cardinals as their new hitting coach.
• McKeithan's hiring follows the dismissal of Brant Brown, who was the Cardinals' hitting coach for the past two seasons.
• McKeithan, 35, led the White Sox to the top of the American League in runs scored in 2026 and fifth in home runs in baseball.
• The Cardinals' decision to hire McKeithan comes roughly two weeks after it was announced that Brant Brown would not be retained.
• McKeithan's promotion is the latest in a trend of successful MLB offenses losing their assistant hitting coaches to other teams.
