Over 3,000 Tarantulas Found Hidden in Socks at Peruvian Airport

• Three travelers were caught smuggling over 3,000 tarantulas in socks at an airport in Callao, Peru on Nov. 3.
• The luggage belonged to two German citizens and one Polish citizen.
• The tarantulas were discovered in 15 to 20 socks per suitcase.
• The travelers were preparing to fly to Germany.
• The spiders included both adult tarantulas and their offspring.
